Middle School Music Online Audition Requirements

The Music Department is looking for middle school students with passion for Music.  Students will demonstrate their musical skills, perform a solo with their intended instrument, and tell us about their passion.

To apply to the SDSCPA Middle School Music program:

Please complete an audition video. Your audition video should be recent (within one month of submission) and must include the following components. Your video should not exceed 10 minutes in length.

Video Introduction

1. ​In your video, please introduce yourself.  Include:

• Your first and last name

• The grade you will be entering in the Fall

• What instrument(s) you play 

(if you are auditioning for Vocal Arts, you can mention this instead of what instrument you will be playing.)

     

   2. Answer the following questions:

• What do you enjoy about playing (or singing) music?

• Why do you want to come to SDSCPA?

   3. Play a musical selection on your instrument, or sing a song!

• Remember to introduce the musical selection you will be performing.

Haven't received a musical instrument yet?

Tell us what instrument you would like to learn to play and why!

 

 

Students will be evaluated individually.  Areas of assessment will include:

Craftsmanship

Personal Expression

BEFORE YOU SUBMIT YOUR AUDITION APPLICATION

Please upload your video to YouTube, Google Drive or Vimeo.

If you use YouTube, please upload the video as Unlisted to protect your student’s privacy. 

If you use Google Drive, please make sure the settings on your video are set so that Anyone with the Link can view the contents. 

If you use Vimeo, please secure it with a password.  We will need access to this password to view your submission.
