LIVE YOUR PASSION!
The San Diego School of Creative and Performing Arts (SDSCPA) is a college preparatory pre-conservatory public arts magnet school for students in grades 6-12. Through our dual curriculum, SDSCPA seeks to provide the highest quality of academic and arts instruction in an atmosphere of mutual support and respect. A rigorous academic program is offered in conjunction with a comprehensive study in the Visual and Performing Arts taught by teachers who are active arts professionals as well as credentialed educators. Students must pass an audition in order to be accepted and
attend SDSCPA. We offer five majors with 11 programs of study in the arts, which include: Theatre (Acting, Musical Theatre, Technical Theatre & Design), Dance, Music (Orchestral Studies, Jazz Studies, Vocal Arts), Visual and Media Arts (Fine Arts, Photography, Cinematic Arts), and Creative Writing. Upon acceptance into a program of study, all students must take the required arts courses in their artistic major. The arts are not an elective at SDSCPA--they are a critical part of the dual curriculum.
The goal for the SDSCPA student is to achieve post-secondary acceptance and success. Our graduates currently attend The Juilliard School, Fordham, CalArts, Carnegie Mellon, Cornish College of the Arts, University of the Arts, Penn State, USC, UCLA, Arizona State, NYU Tish School of the Arts, Berklee College of Music, Emerson College, University of Utah, American Musical and Dramatic Academy, American Academy of Dramatic Arts, The Parsons School, The New School,.
