6th & 7th GRADE PREP
We understand the importance of intense art exploration in the middle school years. As such, the audition process is different than the high school audition process. In grades 6-7, students begin with more flexibility in their art curriculum and move toward a focused 8th grade pre-major in one of the six arts majors.

6th and 7th Grade Online Audition Requirements
Please submit a 1-2 minute video sharing with us who you are! Introduce yourself, tell us your name and what grade you will be going into. Let us know what you are passionate about, and why you would like to attend SDSCPA.
If you are auditioning for the Performing Arts, including Acting, Dance, Instrumental Music, Musical Theatre, or Vocal Arts:
Tell us about, or include a demonstration of your passion in your video. Sing a song that best shows your voice, show us your dance, play a song on your instrument, or give us a monologue - whatever you feel best shows your passion for your art!
If you are auditioning for the Creative Arts, including Visual Arts, Cinematic Arts, Creative Writing or Technical Theatre:
Along with your introduction video, submit 4-5 drawings or a sample of your writing that best show your passion for the creative arts! Pick subjects to draw or write about that interest you, and that will tell us your passion!
